Passover Seder
Please join us for our first Passover Seder meal. For those unfamiliar with the Seder, it consists of a service fulfilling the commandment in Exodus Chapter 12:24 followed by a meal as commanded in Exodus Chapter 12:1-11.

On April 13, St. Matthews will hold a Passover Seder. For those unfamiliar with the Seder, it consists of a service fulfilling the commandment in Exodus Chapter 12:24 followed by a meal as commanded in Exodus Chapter 12:1-11.
The meal is one at which Jesus created the Eucharist. We do not know how Jesus and the disciples chose to observe the Passover on that occasion other than what is laid out in Exodus and in the Gospels (Matthew 26:17, Mark 14:12, Luke 22:7, and John13). The earliest reference to the order of service we will follow is in the 13th century and has, undoubtedly, been adapted over time, while still following the basic order laid out in Exodus 12.
The meal will be somewhat typical of a meal served by Eastern European Jews. The main entrée will be lamb, with appropriate side dishes. Although we will not make any attempt…
